Per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, the Detroit Lions are expected to hire Michigan assistant director of personnel John Collins as a scouting assistant.

Collins has worked at Michigan since 2024.

Prior to his Michigan stint, Collins spent two years at Georgia as a personnel and recruiting analyst.

Collins also previously served as a scouting and recruiting assistant for Temple and as a training camp player personnel intern for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Georgia won the national championship to cap the 2022 college football season while Collins was in Athens, Ga.

Collins is the latest offseason addition to the Lions' personnel department.

Detroit also hired former Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier to its front office as a personnel executive.

During Grier's tenure, the Dolphins posted five winning seasons, including four straight from 2020-23, and made the playoffs three times.
