Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

has put together a very strong spring during the team's offseason programs.

He was routinely making downfield plays in the passing game and also began impacting other areas of the field more consistently as well.

This offseason performance comes after Thomas Jr.

had a down season by his standards in 2025, totaling 707 receiving yards on 48 catches with two touchdowns.

So what has led to Thomas Jr.'s surge over the spring? Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer recently noted two factors that have contributed to Thomas Jr.'s fast start.

"Thomas never really left after his disappointing 2025," Breer wrote, "establishing a constant presence in the Jaguars building, first to rehab a couple of lingering injuries (that were part of the equation last year), and then to get as much time on task with Lawrence as he could.

The benefits manifested in the spring, with a pretty apparent uptick in the connection between Thomas and Lawrence." Thomas Jr.

dealt with a lingering wrist injury last season as well as a shoulder injury.

He appeared in 14 games, missing three due to injury.

He now appears to be fully healthy going into training camp next month.

That connection with Lawrence that Breer mentions has been crucial to his early success as well.

As Liam Coen detailed during OTAs, Lawrence and Thomas Jr.

building their chemistry was at the top of the offseason to-do list, and appears to be greatly improved as a result.

A resurgence from Thomas Jr.

this season won't only lead to more explosive plays from the Jaguars' offense, but his presence will help open up opportunities for others as well.
