Bison men's, women's basketball head coaches sign contract extensions

FARGO North Dakota State men's basketball coach Dave Richman and women's basketball head coach Jory Collins both signed contract extensions, the school announced Friday.

Both coaches signed five-year extensions through the 2030-31 season.

The pair were both named Summit League Coach of the Year in their respective sport.

ADVERTISEMENT "(Richman) and (Collins) have both shown consistent leadership and have not only embraced the new era of college basketball, but have excelled across the board," NDSU athletic director Matt Larsen said in a press release.

Richman, who has served as head coach for 13 seasons, led the Bison to their sixth NCAA men's basketball tournament since 2009.

The NDSU men set a program-record with 27 wins last season.

Collins steered the Bison women to a Summit League regular season title, which included a 23-game win streak.

NDSU earned a No.

1 seed in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament.

In seven seasons, Collins has recorded 127 wins at the helm.
