Marshall University Mens Basketball faces a pair of prestigious powerhouse programs which are coming off NCAA Tournament appearances as part of its 2026-27 non-conference schedule, as it was announced on Friday.
The Thundering Herd will travel to face Ohio State at Value City Arena in Columbus on Nov.
9 before later traveling to the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.
to face North Carolina on Nov.
20.
Were looking forward to competing against the likes of both UNC and Ohio State, Marshall mens basketball head coach Cornelius Jackson said.
Those are the types of matchups that challenge your team, create memorable experiences for your players and provide a chance to showcase the growth and competitiveness of our program on a national stage.
The contests not only allow Jackson to showcase his team on the national level, but it also provides fans with a pair of regional matchups and to support the Herd in two of the Top 10 biggest venues in college basketball.
The Dean Smith Center has a capacity of 21,750 fans, while Value City Arena can hold up to 19,500 fans for a contest.

9 meeting with Ohio State will be the third all-time meeting between the programs and the first since the 2016-17 season.
The Herds Nov.
20 trip to Chapel Hill to take on UNC is the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs and the first since the 2009-10 campaign.
Marshalls full non-conference slate will be announced in the future once solidified.
