Is there a scenario in which the New York Giants pass on a quarterback with the No.

3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft? If both Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders are gone, it's certainly plausible the Giants go in a different direction or trade back.

But what if Sanders is available and general manager Joe Schoen still opts to take a different route? Some around the league are beginning to see that as a realistic probability, reports Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. Some people around NFL are starting to think #Giants plan might be Jameis Winston, another veteran free agent and a rookie NOT drafted No.3 overall and is more developmental (Short of being able to land Cam Ward) https://t.co/AfEmspm7e9 Ryan Dunleavy (@rydunleavy) March 24, 2025Despite agreeing to terms with Jameis Winston, several NFL insiders have reported that the Giants remain in the hunt for veteran quarterback Aaron Wilson and are "still in the mix" for 10-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson.

They also met with Joe Flacco and nothing suggests they have moved on from him, either. It seems inevitable that the Giants will add another veteran quarterback at some point, but will they dare pass on Sanders if he's there at No.

3? Every bit of recent information would seem to suggest otherwise but perhaps the Giants don't see the value at that position. Those of us at Giants Wire have long argued taking Sanders at No.

3 would be an overdraft, albeit a potentially necessary one.

Both Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are fighting for their jobs and that puts them in a precarious situation.

Taking a player like Sanders early in the draft might buy them time. We'll know for sure one month from now. This article originally appeared on Giants Wire: Teams beginning to think Giants pass on QB at No.
