The Philadelphia 76ers wrapped up a 6-game road trip on Monday with a 112-99 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Sixers went 1-5 on the trip as they lost the final five after opening with a win in Dallas on March 16.

The Sixers now sit at 23-49 on the season as they have tried to piece things together on the floor.

Coach Nick Nurse had to juggle lineups as Philadelphia had to make two-way players Jeff Dowtin Jr., Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Alex Reese inactive at times in order to conserve their 50-day cap for the final stretch of the season.

Nurse also had to lose Oshae Brissett as his 10-day deal expired and welcomed Marcus Bagley in on a 10-day that was signed shortly before the contest. All in all, the Sixers definitely fought throughout the trip--including the loss to the Pelicans--but it was certainly a long one."Glad it's over for sure, right?" Nurse told reporters after the loss.

"Weve been gone a long time.

I don't know--give the group some credit.

I really would.

I think they played some really great basketball.

Continuing to lose a body here and there, but just kind of continue to go out.

I'm not saying they played great tonight (Monday), but there was someDallas, San Antonio, Houston.

There was some really good, intense basketball being played, and some great effort, but it'll be nice to come home for a while."The Sixers have not been home since March 14 so a matchup with the Washington Wizards on Wednesday back in the friendly confines of the Wells Fargo Center should do this group some good.

Nurse had his team playing competitive basketball despite the losses as the Sixers held a big lead over the Houston Rockets before falling in overtime on March 17, had a lead over the San Antonio Spurs before faltering late, and even had a lead over the Pelicans on Monday. With 10 games left, the Sixers are 7.5 games back of the Miami Heat for the final play-in spot in the East.

That initial goal is just about done.

Philadelphia is now focused on making sure the youngsters get the necessary reps to develop and to be in the best position to keep its top 6 protected lottery pick.
