Good morning! Im sorry, Jets fans.
There is something respectable about going for it, no matter how bad the outcome.
Scared money doesnt make money.
Etc., etc.
But the Jets .
Oh, the Jets.
Mortgaging the immediate future for a mercurial 40-year-old quarterback was a big swing.
Two years and 12 games later, the swing is more than a miss.
Its a certified disaster , and it got messier yesterday: Our reporting makes it quite clear Johnson has been heavily involved in every move this season.
Amid all this, he seems poised to step away from day-to-day operations to rejoin President-elect Donald Trumps administration, in which he previously served as ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Where do the Jets even go from here? Is Rodgers back next season? He wants to be .
But does New York want him back? What a mess.
Lets keep moving: It was a busy night on and off the court for NBA stars.
Lets start with the actual action first: Also: In a nightcap surprise, the 7-8 Spurs earned a huge win (without Victor Wembanyama) over the 11-4 Thunder, 110-104 , to even their records in the NBA Cup standings.
A Boise bye? A new batch of College Football Playoff rankings dropped last night, with No.
12 Boise State as the big winner if the season ended today, the Broncos would become the No.
4 seed and earn a bye.
Georgia is also back in the projected field after a big win over Tennessee , and Miami despite a bad loss to Georgia Tech two weeks ago remains a favorite for a bye of its own.

Advertisement Tata out in Miami Inter Miami coach Gerardo Tata Martino resigned yesterday, multiple sources told The Athletic , leaving Inter and Lionel Messi in limbo after just over a year in charge.
Under Martino this year, Inter produced a record 74-point regular season and won the Supporters Shield before crashing out of the playoffs early.
Former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has already been mentioned as a possible replacement.

Nadal bids us adieu Rafael Nadal is officially retired from professional tennis after losing in straight sets to Botic Van de Zandschulp in the Davis Cup yesterday, where Nadal was representing Spain.
The 38-year-olds loss, combined with a doubles defeat, eliminated Spain from the Cup altogether.
His comments after the match were both heartwarming and heartbreaking .
More news The results of this are simple, yet meta: On the topic of unanimously electing Ichiro Suzuki to the Baseball Hall of Fame, Pulse readers are emphatic but not unanimous in the yes camp.
Heres what I left unsaid yesterday, and what Jayson Stark beautifully laid out in his piece on the matter : Why are these superstars left without unanimous support? It made me physically angry to see names like Willie Mays, Babe Ruth, Ken Griffey Jr.
and even Derek Jeter without unanimous elections.
What are we doing here? Heres what Jayson wrote: Everyone from Topeka to Tokyo knows Ichiro is a Hall of Famer.
So come on, people.
What reason could any voter possibly have not to vote for a guy who collected a staggering 4,367 hits on two continents with 3,089 of them coming on this side of the Pacific (all after age 27)? Can we please make this happen? I dont even want to address the 20 percent of you who voted against the measure.
Drop your location.
Thank you, mostly everyone, for voting.
