Derrick White had a humorous response to a question about his new signature beer

By Khari A.
Thompson Typically, the beverages placed on the podium of NBA press conferences are water or sports drinks, such as Gatorade.
But, with the recent announcement of a new Samuel Adams beer named after Derrick White, a can of the Celtics guards signature brew was sitting before him after Tuesday nights 120-117 win over Cleveland.
Jayson Tatum, who sat next to White at the press conference, had an orange Gatorade bottle in front of him.
White placed the beer in front of Tatum.
Tatum moved the beer, picked up the Gatorade bottle, and said: This is what youre supposed to drink after the game.
Is it really? White replied with a playful shrug.
A reporter asked White if he used the beer to stay hydrated during the game.
Oooh, Tatum said, shaking his head.
Weve got kids out there.
White shook his head and smiled as he answered the question.
No, not at all, White said.
Water.
Gatorade.
But, it is a great beverage.
So, they asked Derrick if the beer is what he uses to stay hydrated for the games...
White celebrated the beverages launch by pouring beers at Samuel Adams downtown taproom last Friday.
At the event, White told Boston.coms Gary Dzen that he is not a regular beer drinker but enjoys working on his acting skills.
Last week, the company released a commercial featuring White and the Your Cousin From Boston character re-enacting scenes from the 2010 film The Town.
Its Whites third appearance in a Samuel Adams commercial.
Last June, after the Celtics won the Finals, White appeared in a commercial that showed him buying a duck boat and taking it for a spin around Boston.

The veteran guard posted 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists in Tuesday nights win that snapped Clevelands 15-game winning streak.
I think every game were just trying to be deliberate on what were trying to do offensively and just creating an advantage and making the right read off of that, White said.
Things change during the game and you make adjustments and I think we did a good job of adjusting on the fly.
Thats what we wanted to do and it was working for us.
