College men’s basketball: Blue Bears romp

Staff report SALISBURY The season debut at Trent Gym for the Livingstone College mens basketball team was a walk in the park.

Coming off two good wins in West Virginia to start the season, the Blue Bears (3-0) crushed Carolina Christian College 111-71 on Saturday.

Sixteen players got in the scorebook for the Blue Bears and several more played.

Livingstone had a 61-point second half.

The Blue Bears had a 45-24 edge on the boards and a 27-7 edge in the turnover battle.

Jamal Cannady scored 24 points in 21 minutes of action to lead Livingstone.

James Nipper had 13, and Trey Minard had 11.
