Former Alabama QB says Crimson Tide’s win over LSU was a ‘vintage’ performance

Kalen DeBoer and his coaching staff has Alabama football playing at a high level.
After shutting out Missouri, the Crimson Tide locked up one of the best offenses in college football last week.
Who replaces a veteran linebacker for Alabama at Wolf moving forward? Alabama silenced Tiger Stadium in a 42-13 impressive victory.
LSUs offense could never get going and Jalen Milroe ran over its defense for 185 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries.
The Tide remains in tact for the College Football Playoff and a former Alabama quarterback called the victory a vintage performance.
It was a VINTAGE @AlabamaFTBL performance in the Tides win over LSU #RollTide pic.twitter.com/MSi0u7DHJT Always College Football (@AlwaysCFB) November 10, 2024 If not for the late touchdown, this was as good a defensive performance as Ive seen from Alabama in quite some time, Greg McElroy said Sunday on his Always College Football podcast.
People have long said, oh, this aint the Saban teams.
I dont recall the last time a Nick Saban coached team went to Baton Rouge and completely shut them down.
This was a tremendous performance on both sides of the ball from Alabama.
Why Jam Miller feels Alabama had to prove a point against LSU McElroy praised how Alabama used Milroe versus LSU and said its coaching staff takes a backseat to no one.
The quarterback run game and Alabama has the best running quarterback in the country right now with the speed that Jalen Milroe showcased, he said.
He goes for 12 carries, 185, and had a 72-yard run that put this thing on ice.
Alabamas coaching staff takes a backseat to almost nobody.
I dont know if they are the best.
I dont know where they rank in the top five.
Im not sure how you would rank them all out, but Kalen DeBoer with an extra week of work, good luck, because he is going to have a scheme that is going to be very difficult to defend.
McElroy does not recall a Saban-coached team shutting down LSU in Tiger Stadium, but it happened in 2016 and 2018.
Sabans defense pitched a shutout both years, earning a 10-0 win in 2016 and a 29-0 win in 2018.
DeBoer did handle the Tigers in Death Valley as Alabamas offense and defense were on point.
The national media is starting to get the sense that he was the correct hire for the post Saban era at Alabama.
DeBoer and the Tide now turn its attention to Mercer for this week.
