Seahawks updated NFL Playoff Picture: So you're telling me there's a chance? | Sporting News

The bye week is over and it's back into the fire for the Seattle Seahawks , who have lost five of their last six games and will now go on the road and face the San Francisco 49ers , who spanked them at home just a few weeks ago.
The recent losting streak, combined with a brutal second-half schedule have literally decimated Seattle's playoff odds compared to when they were 3-0 early in the season.
According to the model we were using last week, the Seahawks had just a 10% chance of making the postseason this year.
However, a lot of other models have it even lower.
If we go by the New York Times ' Playoff Picture, they're barely over half that much.
Seahawks Week 11 playoff odds According to the NYT's playoff calculator, the Seahawks' current odds of making the postseason are just 6%.
Losing to the 49ers on Sunday (they are 6.5 point underdogs) would drop their chances to just 2%.
Meanwhile, a win would only boost them up to 14%.
While it's grim, they're technically not eliminated as of yet.
After the visit to Santa Clara, the Seahawks will play the Arizona Cardinals twice in three weeks, with a visit to the New York Jets sandwiched in-between.
If Seattle can somehow upset San Francisco and then win all three of those games, their chances of making the playoffs would rise up to 60%.
Alternatively, losing to the 49ers and then the Cardinals would put the Seahawks at just 1%, or so close to zero that it makes no real difference..
