The Voice of Motowns Brad Smith believes West Virginia head football coach Neal Brown is as good as fired unless the Mountaineers pull off a miracle over their final four games against Cincinnati, Baylor, UCF, and Texas Tech.

Neal Brown is as good as fired if West Virginia cant pull off a miracle to end the season and the possiblity of making a once-in-a-lifetime hire could actually become a reality for WVUs director Wren Baker, Smith wrote.

The idea that West Virginia could possibly hire one of the best head coaches in recent modern history, a native from West Virginia who happens to have a 128-48 record in Power 4 football and has a national championship ring, but would keep Neal Brown instead is unfathomable.

Smith said this of Brown in a piece aimed at singing the praises of Jimbo Fisher who may have an interest in returning to his home state to return to coaching.

The only reason that West Virginia would even have a chance at such an accomplished head coach is because hes from the state and loves the thought of returning home, Smith wrote.

Fisher, 59, has made all the money hell ever need to make in this sport, he has won a national championship, and he has nothing left to prove to anyone.

He could happily retire and live out his life with all the wealth he will ever need, but that is not what he wants.

Jimbo Fisher wants to return to coaching again.

He has a passion for college football, and not only does he want to return to coaching, he wants to return home.

Jimbo Fisher, not Nick Saban, a realistic coaching option for West Virginia if Mountaineers fire Neal Brown Fisher might not want to end his coaching career on such a low.

He was bought out of his deal despite it costing over $75 million at Texas A&M.

Hes a realistic replacement for Brown in Morgantown next year if the Mountaineers cut bait.

Nick Saban, however, isnt a realistic option; despite being linked to West Virginia .

Saban ended his career on top in Tuscaloosa and would probably only return to coaching at Alabama.

Not everyone wants that homecoming tale.

Fisher might.

Saban almost definitely doesnt..
