Hell offer up insights every morning on Brad Underwoods team and college basketball at large: Illinois had just four fast break points in the first half of its 112-67 season-opening win against Eastern Illinois.

The second half featured better transition offense, with the Illini scoring 10 fast break points.

Per CBBAnalytics, com, just 12.5 percent of Illinois' total offensive output came in transition Monday night at State Farm Center.

Kasparas Jakuicionis assisted on half of the points Illinois scored on fast breaks against EIU.

That included a layup from Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn in the first half and both a Ben Humrichous layup and three-pointer in the second half.

The freshman guard finished Monday's game, his Illini debut, with 11 points, a team-high seven assists and five rebounds.

"On misses we've got to go," Illinois coach Brad Underwood said.

"I don't think in the first half we did a great job of running, especially our wings, but KJ excels in the open court.

If you're open and you run, guys are starting to figure out he'll get you the basketball.

We'll keep growing in that area, but I love that aspect of his game.".
