Ive had to type way too many of these articles this season, but the Braves may have just lost another player to injury, as Reynaldo Lopez s velocity was down to begin his start Tuesday night against the Nationals and was eventually removed from the game ahead of the second inning.

Reynaldo Lopez being checked by #Braves trainers.

Velo looks to be down early on in this one.

Fastball has been in the 92-94 range in the first inning in DC.

He stays in the game, but something to keep a close eye on.

Kevin McAlpin (@KevinMcAlpin) September 10, 2024 Reynaldo Lopez spent almost a month on the IL not too long ago after feeling some forearm tightness against the Mets.

He returned on August 20th and allowed two earned runs or fewer in four straight starts, dropping his ERA to 2.04 on the season.

If there were any ill effects, Lopez certainly didnt show any.

If anything, hes only looked better since rejoining the team.

However, two such injuries over the stretch of a month is concerning, and with the way things have gone this season, it doesnt feel like they are going to get lucky again.

Even if Reynaldo Lopez just needs some rest, theres a good chance hes done for the year, joining Ronald Acuna Jr.

Austin Riley , Spencer Strider , A.J.

Minter, and Ozzie Albies on the IL.

Its been a year to forget for the Braves in the injury department, and with just 18 games left to go, a season-ending injury to Reynaldo Lopez just might be the straw that breaks the camels back.
