It has been a brutal 2024-25 NBA season so far for the Utah Jazz , but on Monday night, the Western Conference team had something to celebrate, as they eked out their first win of the campaign by taking down the Chicago Bulls in Windy City to the tune of a 135-126 score.

Big man John Collins was instrumental in the Jazzs win over the Bulls, as he came off the bench and stuffed the stat sheets with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists while shooting 12-for-17 from the field and 2-for-4 from behind the arc.

With that performance, he did something no player in Jazz franchise history had achieved in the previous 40 years, according to StatMuse .

John Collins off the bench: 28 PTS 13 REB 5 AST 12-17 FG 2-4 3P The first Jazz bench player with a 25/10/5 game on 70+ FG% in over 40 years.

John Collins, Utah Jazz are winless no more The Jazz played their third game in a row without star Lauri Markkanen , who is still dealing with back spasms, but finally earned their first win of the season, thanks in large part to the tremendous effort of Collins.

Utah also got a big performance from Collin Sexton, with the former Alabama Crimson Tide star chipping in 24 points and five assists.

The 1-6 Jazz will look to sustain their form when they pay the struggling Milwaukee Bucks a visit this coming Thursday before ending their road trip with a date with the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.
