RCTC men's basketball team bounces back with win

ROCHESTER One day after dropping its opener, the Rochester Community and Technical College mens basketball team bounced back with an 83-71 home win over Vermilion on Saturday.

Friday, the Yellowjackets lost 67-58 to Minnesota North College-Mesabi Range.

ADVERTISEMENT RCTC built a 45-29 halftime lead against Vermilion and then easily hung on.

Jamison Lien led the winners with 25 points.

He knocked down 10 of 16 field-goal tries and also grabbed 13 rebounds.

Charlie Morning had 18 points, hitting 11 of 12 free throw attempts.

Leroy Barnes had 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds.

RCTC shot 50 percent from the field and was also 50 percent on 3-pointers (6-for-12).

It made 23 of 30 free throws and outrebounded Vermilion 47-27..
