Freddie Freeman delivered an all-time postseason moment in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday, but he made a bit of history in Monday's Game 3.

Freeman hit a home run in his fifth consecutive World Series game, doing so with a two-run blast in the first inning.

The Dodgers went on to win 4-2 and move within a win of a series sweep of the Yankees.

How can Freeman have a home run in five consecutive World Series games if this series is only three games deep? Freeman homered in Games 5 and 6 of the 2021 World Series with the Braves, helping power Atlanta to a surprise championship.

That was the end of Freeman's time with the Braves, but he's one win away from adding another ring to his legacy and can set a World Series record with a Game 4 home run.

Here's a look at Freeman's record-tying home run streak and who else he's joined in an exclusive club.

SN's MLB HQ: Live MLB scores | Updated MLB standings | Full MLB schedule Freddie Freeman World Series HR record Freeman's Game 3 home run left him tied with George Springer for consecutive World Series games with a home run at five.

Springer's streak occurred entirely in one series 2017 which coincidentally came against the Dodgers.

Freeman's streak is split over two World Series three years apart, but it qualifies.

Freeman and Springer sit ahead of Reggie Jackson and Lou Gehrig, who homered in four consecutive World Series games.

Both of those streaks happened across different years.

To no one's surprise, Freeman isn't too concerned about individual records.

He's focused on getting that final win to push the Dodgers over the top and make himself a two-time champion, telling Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal after Game 3, "One more win, that's all I care about right now." "One more win, that's all I care about right now.

I don't care how it happens, I just want to get one more win." @FreddieFreeman5 joined @Ken_Rosenthal to talk about the @Dodgers Game 3 win, homering in 5 straight World Series games, & more.

With only four hits through three games, the award isn't a guarantee, but Freeman is in the driver's seat thanks to his three home runs in three games.

That record of five is held by Springer, Chase Utley, and Reggie Jackson, with Utley the only one to hit five in a losing effort.

Freeman is sitting on three home runs in this World Series, which would put five well within reach if the series extended to six or seven games.

With the Dodgers leading 3-0, however, a sweep or even a five-game series wouldn't bode well for his chances.

As he's already established, though, Freeman would much rather just wrap up the series with a championship than play long enough to threaten the home run record..
