Welcome to Bleacher Report's top 25 college football quarterback rankings after Week 9.

These rankings are a weekly feature published each Tuesday morning throughout the 2024 season, with the goal of identifying the 25 best QBs in the country each week as the season unfolds.

The only thing that matters here is on-field production in 2024.

That means past performance, future expectations, physical tools and NFL upside have all been removed from the equation.

Every quarterback's individual production and quality of opponent will be considered each week, and players will rise and fall based on where they ranked the previous week, so it will be a fluid process.

If your favorite team's quarterback is not currently on the list, fear not.

If a guy is putting up numbers, he will find his way onto the list.

On the flip side, a strong first half of the season will only go so far if a player falls flat in Week 10 and fails to maintain his success.

These 25 quarterbacks were also under consideration for a spot in the rankin gs but ultimately settled for an honorable mention following Week 9 action: Luke Altmyer, Illinois Hank Bachmeier, Wake Forest Rocco Becht, Iowa State Max Brosmer, Minnesota Thomas Castellanos, Boston College Billy Edwards Jr., Maryland Taylen Green, Arkansas Seth Henigan, Memphis Josh Hoover, TCU Kevin Jennings, SMU Gio Lopez, South Alabama Owen McCown, UTSA Fernando Mendoza, California Darian Mensah, Tulane Miller Moss, USC Maalik Murphy, Duke Spencer Petras, Utah State Marcel Reed, Texas A&M Jake Retzlaff, BYU Will Rogers, Washington Kaidon Salter, Liberty Caden Veltkamp, Western Kentucky Hajj-Malik Williams, UNLV Hayden Wolff, Western Michigan Ben Wooldridge, Louisiana Injured, Removed from Rankings Brady Cook, Missouri Haynes King, Georgia Tech Sam Leavitt, Arizona State Brendon Lewis, Nevada Behren Morton, Texas Tech Kurtis Rourke, Indiana 25.

Brendan Sorsby, Cincinnati (Previous Rank: HM) Stats: 172-of-262, 2,108 yards, 15 TD, 4 INT; 144 rush yards, 6 TD Sorsby ranks among the Big 12 leaders in passing yards (2,108, third) and total touchdowns (21, third), and he threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday night's loss to Colorado.

The Indiana transfer has already matched last year's passing touchdown total in two fewer games, and his completion percentage has climbed from 57.0 to 65.6 percent.

24.

Sawyer Robertson, Baylor (Previous Rank: HM) Stats: 116-of-193, 1,541 yards, 17 TD, 4 INT; 229 rush yards, 4 TD Robertson started the season serving as backup to Toledo transfer Dequan Finn, but he took over as starter in Week 4 against Air Force after Finn suffered an injury.

He has thrown at least three touchdown passes in four straight games, and over the past two weeks, he has nine total touchdowns and one interception in conference wins over Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

23.

Carson Beck, Georgia (Previous Rank: 23) Stats: 165-of-250, 1,993 yards, 15 TD, 8 INT; 65 rush yards Beck tumbled down the rankings following a zero-touchdown, three-interception performance in Week 8 against Texas, and he has the same number of touchdowns (8) as interceptions over Georgia's last four games.

After a bye in Week 9, the Bulldogs will be back in action against Florida in Jacksonville on Saturday.

22.

Kyle McCord, Syracuse (Previous Rank: 10) Stats: 220-of-346, 2,481 yards, 19 TD, 11 INT; -44 rush yards, 2 TD McCord got off to a terrific start this season while leading Syracuse to a 5-1 record, but the wheels fell off in a major way on Thursday against undefeated Pitt.

The Ohio State transfer threw four interceptions in the first half and five total in a 41-13 loss, completing just 35 of 64 pass attempts for 321 yards while failing to find the end zone through the air.

21.

Drew Allar, Penn State (Previous Rank: 20) Stats: 117-of-164, 1,640 yards, 12 TD, 4 INT; 129 rush yards, 3 TD A lower body injury sent Allar to the sidelines during the second half of Saturday's victory over Wisconsin, and backup Beau Pribula completed 11 of 13 pass attempts for 98 yards and a touchdown in his absence to secure the win.

Allar's status for this weekend's huge matchup against Ohio State is still up in the air, though his injury has not been described as serious to this point.

20.

Alonza Barnett III, James Madison (Previous Rank: 19) Stats: 139-of-243, 1,793 yards, 18 TD, 2 INT; 292 rush yards, 5 TD Barnett has slowed his pace since logging back-to-back games with five passing touchdowns on Sept.

21 and Sept.

28, though he is still tied for ninth in the nation with 23 total touchdowns.

He had 135 passing yards with two touchdowns and one interception on Saturday against Southern Miss.

19.

Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt (Previous Rank: 24) Stats: 118-of-183, 1,534 yards, 13 TD, 3 INT; 537 rush yards, 4 TD Pavia had two passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and 210 total yards in Saturday's loss to Texas, and he made things interesting with a pair of second-half touchdown throws to turn what was a 21-7 deficit at one point into a 27-24 nail-biter.

His dual-threat production is a big reason why the Commodores have returned to relevance.

18.

Quinn Ewers, Texas (Previous Rank: HM) Stats: 130-of-188, 1,389 yards, 14 TD, 6 INT; -50 rush yards, 1 TD Ewers missed two full games and most of a third with an oblique injury, and he is still working to climb back up these rankings as a result.

He completed 27-of-37 pass attempts for 288 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday against Vanderbilt, though he was also picked off twice in what was a closer-than-expected game.

He will have a bye this coming weekend before facing Florida in Week 11.

17.

Jordan McCloud, Texas State (Previous Rank: 17) Stats: 159-of-232, 1,891 yards, 20 TD, 7 INT; 217 rush yards, 5 TD After throwing for 3,657 yards and 35 touchdowns last season at James Madison, McCloud has continued to impress while piloting the Texas State offense.

Despite having a bye in Week 9, he is still one of only seven FBS quarterbacks with 20 passing touchdowns this season, and his 25 total touchdowns are tied with Alabama's Jalen Milroe for fifth in the nation.

16.

Avery Johnson, Kansas State (Previous Rank: 22) Stats: 130-of-212, 1,654 yards, 16 TD, 5 INT; 373 rush yards, 4 TD Over K-State's last four games, Johnson has passed for 1,034 yards with 10 touchdowns against just two interceptions, and he has also added 112 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns during that span.

The first-year starter is steadily improving as a passer while continuing to make an impact with his legs.

15.

Blake Horvath, Navy (Previous Rank: 13) Stats: 53-of-85, 976 yards, 10 TD, 2 INT; 750 rush yards, 11 TD Horvath emerged as a dark horse Heisman candidate during Navy's 6-0 start to the season, adding a potent passing element to the Midshipmen's usual rushing attack.

He had 129 rushing yards and a touchdown in Saturday's loss to Notre Dame, but he also threw an interception and lost two fumbles in a game where Navy turned the ball over six times en route to a 51-14 final score.

14.

Riley Leonard, Notre Dame (Previous Rank: HM) Stats: 131-of-198, 1,360 yards, 8 TD, 3 INT; 539 rush yards, 11 TD Since Notre Dame's head-scratching loss to Northern Illinois in Week 2, Leonard has completed 68.4 percent of his passes for 1,039 yards with 10 touchdowns and only one interception.

He has also piled up 460 rushing yards at 7.4 yards per carry with another 10 touchdowns on the ground during that stretch.

It may not be traditional passing production, but Leonard is a big reason the Fighting Irish are still alive in the playoff picture.

13.

Tyler Shough, Louisville (Previous Rank: 15) Stats: 175-of-272, 2,348 yards, 20 TD, 5 INT; 5 rush yards Things never fully clicked for Shough during stops at Oregon and Texas Tech, but he has been a good fit this year leading the Louisville offense.

He threw for 332 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 31-27 win on the road against Boston College, and while he was picked off twice in that game, he has done a solid job overall taking care of the football.

12.

Bryson Daily, Army (Previous Rank: 12) Stats: 27-of-47, 629 yards, 7 TD, 0 INT; 909 rush yards, 19 TD Daily tallied 100 rushing yards in six straight games heading into Army's Week 9 bye, and his 909 rushing yards overall rank 10th in the nation and tops among all quarterbacks by a wide margin.

He returns to action on Saturday against a 1-6 Air Force team that ranks 118th with 193.7 rushing yards allowed per game.

11.

Garrett Nussmeier, LSU (Previous Rank: 9) Stats: 208-of-333, 2,627 yards, 20 TD, 9 INT; 13 rush yards, 3 TD LSU's lack of a consistent rushing attack has put a lot on the shoulders of Nussmeier, and Saturday was no exception as they managed just 24 rushing yards on 23 carries in a 38-23 loss to Texas A&M.

That led to Nussmeier attempting 50 passes, and while he racked up 405 yards and two touchdowns through the air, he was also picked off three times with the defense keyed in on the passing game.

10.

Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh (Previous Rank: 14) Stats: 138-of-215, 1,808 yards, 17 TD, 5 INT; 286 rush yards, 3 TD Holstein was extremely efficient in Thursday's lopsided victory over Syracuse, completing 11-of-15 pass attempts for 108 yards and two touchdowns while also adding 20 yards on the ground in a 41-13 blowout.

The Panthers are off to a 7-0 start and checked in at No.

18 in the latest AP poll, and a huge matchup against No.

22 SMU will kick off the November slate.

9.

John Mateer, Washington State (Previous Rank: 11) Stats: 148-of-242, 2,153 yards, 18 TD, 6 INT; 575 rush yards, 10 TD After a loss to Boise State and a shaky performance against Fresno State, Mateer has put together back-to-back impressive games against Hawaii (295 passing yards, 34 rushing yards, 5 total TD) and San Diego State (257 passing yards, 42 rushing yards, 4 total TD).

The redshirt sophomore has 2,728 total yards, which ranks fourth among all FBS players and is a big reason for Washington State's 7-1 start.

8.

Jalen Milroe, Alabama (Previous Rank: 6) Stats: 137-of-203, 1,937 yards, 13 TD, 6 INT; 380 rush yards, 12 TD After throwing two interceptions in back-to-back games against South Carolina and Tennessee, Milroe had another quiet afternoon on Saturday against Missouri, completing 16-of-26 passes for 215 yards with zero touchdowns and zero picks.

He did record his 12th rushing touchdown of the season, and the Crimson Tide cruised to a 34-0 victory.

7.

Chandler Morris, North Texas (Previous Rank: 16) Stats: 224-of-351, 2,873 yards, 26 TD, 8 INT; 160 rush yards, 4 TD Morris leads all FBS quarterbacks in passing yards (2,873), passing touchdowns (26), total yards (3,033) and total touchdowns (30), and he put up his third 400-yard passing performance in his last four games on Saturday in a 45-37 loss to Tulane.

The TCU transfer has 1,974 yards with 17 touchdowns and two interceptions in his last five games, and he has been steadily climbing the rankings.

6.

Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss (Previous Rank: 7) Stats: 173-of-245, 2,695 yards, 15 TD, 3 INT; 207 rush yards, 3 TD Dart had his best game in several weeks on Saturday against Oklahoma, completing 22-of-30 pass attempts for 311 yards and a touchdown in a 26-14 victory.

The Rebels' signal-caller has made marked strides in his completion percentage (65.1 to 70.6 percent) and yards per attempt (9.4 to 11.0) relative to the 2023 season, and a road game against Arkansas is up next on the schedule.

Previous Rank: 8 Stats: 134-of-181, 1,795 yards, 17 TD, 4 INT; 91 rush yards, 5 TD Will Howard has now recorded at least three total touchdowns in five straight games after completing 13-of-16 attempts for 221 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday in a 21-17 victory over Nebraska.

During that five-game span, he has completed 78.0 percent of his pass attempts for 1,275 yards with 13 touchdowns and four interceptions, while also adding 67 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.

The Kansas State transfer has improved across the board from his 2023 performance when he threw for 2,643 yards with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, and he has added a dynamic that was missing from the Ohio State offense a year ago.

Previous Rank: 5 Stats: 220-of-300, 2,591 yards, 21 TD, 6 INT; -18 rush yards, 3 TD A nearly flawless performance by Shedeur Sanders in Week 9 led Colorado to a 34-23 victory over Cincinnati, and earned them the No.

23 spot in the latest AP poll with a 6-2 record on the year.

Sanders completed 25-of-30 pass attempts for 323 yards and two touchdowns while also adding a rushing touchdown, and much of that damage came to two-way star Travis Hunter who finished with nine catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns.

The Buffaloes do not face another ranked opponent the rest of the way, and after a Week 10 bye, they will close out the year with games against Texas Tech, Utah, Kansas and Oklahoma State.

Previous Rank: 3 Stats: 146-of-219, 1,836 yards, 20 TD, 3 INT; 227 rush yards, 4 TD Clemson rattled off six straight wins since their season-opening loss to Georgia, and Cade Klubnik has led a high-powered offensive attack that is averaging 48.5 points per game during that winning streak.

Klubnik has 1,694 yards with 20 touchdowns and two interceptions during that impressive run of success, and the Tigers are still very much alive in the College Football Playoff picture, albeit with a tough remaining schedule.

A good Louisville team is up next on Saturday following a Week 9 bye, and a Week 12 matchup on the road against undefeated Pittsburgh also stands in the way of a potential playoff push.

Previous Rank: 2 Stats: 192-of-252, 2,371 yards, 18 TD, 5 INT; 97 rush yards, 5 TD Dillon Gabriel was unfazed by a ranked Illinois team's defense on Saturday, leading the Oregon Ducks to a lopsided 38-9 victory to maintain their hold on the No.

1 spot in the AP poll.

Gabriel completed 18-of-26 pass attempts for 291 yards and three touchdowns, and he also added a score on the ground as the Ducks piled up 527 total yards of offense and were in complete control from start to finish.

With a win over Ohio State on the resume and no regular-season matchup with Penn State, the Ducks and Gabriel have a clear path to an undefeated regular season with Michigan, Maryland, Wisconsin and Washington representing their remaining four matchups.

Previous Rank: 1 Stats: 191-of-281, 2,746 yards, 24 TD, 5 INT; 186 rush yards, 3 TD For the first time this season, Cam Ward was held without a touchdown, though that did not stop the Miami Hurricanes from cruising to a 36-14 victory over a floundering Florida State team.

Ward completed 22-of-35 pass attempts for 208 yards, but he did not record a touchdown or an interception, as running backs Damien Martinez (15 carries, 148 yards, 2 TD) and Mark Fletcher Jr.

(15 carries, 71 yards, 1 TD) handled the heavy lifting offensively.

A good Duke team is up next on the schedule on Saturday afternoon, and Ward will have a chance to add to his terrific resume after a quiet Week 9 performance..
