South Carolina is still in the market for offensive linemen in the 2025 class considering they have just one committed.

Thursday, Gamecocks offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley made the call to Lancaster offensive guard Kevin Peay (6-4, 305).

Peay is a Shrine Bowl selection and Georgia Tech commitment.

Peay said that he feels theres no doubt the Gamecocks see a lot of potential in him.

The whole coaching staff thinks Im a great athlete, Peay said.

Im a stud on the offense line.

Its just the way I play.

Definitely my strength (stands out).

The way I attach to the blocks.

Plus, my mobility to dominate blocks, stay engaged.

My technique is to knock the player in front of me.

Peay added that the offer from the Gamecocks was a boost to his self-esteem as an in-state football prospect.

Me just knowing that Im the best player in the state, it kind of just boots that feeling for me, he said.

I know the things I can do and the things I can do for any program at this level.

Peay visited USC for the Akron game.

Hes not yet scheduled an official visit and is not sure about a return for another home game at this point.

Hes still good with his Georgia Tech commitment, so theres more work to be done by the Gamecocks before hell consider a change in plans.

For South Carolina being a home state school, thats great, but at the same time, I know Im still locked in with Georgia Tech, Peay said.

Me having to build the relationship I have with South Carolina, thats got to be strong in order for me to either flip or do anything.

Ive just got to build a strong relationship with those guys.

Peay has bas been to three Georgia Tech games this season.

He was recently offered by Vanderbilt and was scheduled for an official visit with the Commodores this weekend.

Peay will be an early grad and will sign in December.

South Carolina is planning another big recruiting weekend when it hosts Texas A&M on Nov.

2, and that will include some official visits.

Center Jimmy Bryson of Chattanooga, Tenn., a Georgia Tech commitment, and Dutch Fork LB Josh Smith will take their officials.

Also, DT Kelten Mickell (6-2, 295) of Jones JC in Mississippi has his official visit with the Gamecocks set for this weekend.

He was actually scheduled to visit a few weeks ago, but defensive tackles coach Travian Robertson moved the visit to Nov.

1.

Mickell has never visited USC, and what he knows about the program he primarily has learned from Robertson.

Just talking about how its a great program for me to fit right in with them and try to come in and be able to come in and try to win me a spot, Mickell said.

We talk every now and then, just taking the time to get to know each other a little bit.

The official visit will give Mickell the chance to see what the USC program has to offer him.

He also will have the opportunity to continue building the relationship with Robertson.

The relationship that me and Coach T-Rob have already built, looking to pursue that again, Mickell said.

Me being in JUCO, I also want to see if its somewhere that I can really just fit myself in and be able to play right away.

If all goes well, Mickell said he could see a commitment to the Gamecocks popping during the weekend or soon after.

They are really my top one, Mickell said.

They are at the top of my board right now.

Mickell took a recent official visit to Utah State.

He has been committed to Liberty, but that has not stopped him from checking out other options.

He has also been offered by Georgia, Miami, Houston, Boise State, Southern Miss, ULM, Arkansas State and Troy.

Mickell said he will be joined on the official visit by his mother, grandmother and defensive line coach at Jones.

Through seven games this season, Mickell had recorded 22 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack.

2026 OL Zyon Guiles (6-5, 290) of Carvers Bay has a bevy of offers thus far but its South Carolina, Clemson and Tennessee standing out the most to him at this point, and hes planning to make his decision in the not-too-distant future.

Guiles has yet to visit Clemson this season.

He had planned to go up for the home opener, but some family came into town, so he stayed at home.

He might visit Clemson for the Louisville game in this weekend.

In the meantime, offensive line coach Matt Luke has been doing his recruiting thing with Guiles.

I speak to Clemson every day, Guiles said.

They always try their best to keep me in touch.

Matt Luke came to watch me last Friday.

That was great, a good surprise.

I balled out.

Clemson is all about me, and they are really family based over there.

I cant wait to get there and see what kind of things they have improved on.

Cant wait to be down there.

Guiles said he is looking at making his decision sometime soon after his season is completed.

One rising tackle believes Clemson does things the right way.

Perhaps thats part of the appeal of Dabo Swinneys program for 2026 OT Dylan Biehl (6-4, 280) of Suwanee, Ga.

Biehl took his second visit to Clemson for the Tigers matchup against Virginia.

That visit was all about building relationships, whether with Matt Luke or Tyler Clements, as both sides became familiar with each other.

Biehl views the Tigers as a first-class program and remains pleased with the recruitment staffs process and organization.

Being around their recruiting staff for two games, I found how organized and nice they are, very impressive, Biehl explained.

I feel like everyone who comes, whether theyre a local kid receiving an invitation from high school or a five-star kid, theyre going to treat them the same.

Theyre going to give them a good experience.

They give you clear, concise information that starts at the top.

Coach Swinney is, I think, a good example of the whole program on how to do things the right way, how to treat people the right way because everybody from Coach Dabo, then to Coach Luke and then down to all the recruiting people and all the other staff members.

Theyre just really first-class people who treat people the right way.

The Suwanee product is looking for a school that can develop him as an athlete and as a man off the field.

He believes Clemson has the right ingredients to complement his wishes.

I think Clemson has built such a winning culture since Coach Swinney has been there, Biehl said.

I mean, its the culture.

Everybody knows it across the country.

People know that Clemson is a first-class program, and I want to look at programs that are first-class programs and do things the right way and treat people the right way because I think thats really important in todays college football to be a part of a culture that wants to build you as a man and as a football player.

As Biehl continues to develop his decision process, hes hoping he can commit before the start of his senior year.

He plans to graduate from high school in the winter of 2025, so hed like to have his plans in order before that moment comes.

Regarding his relationship with the Tigers, Biehl patiently awaits the day when a Clemson offer comes.

He believes that time is coming, and when it does, hell be thrilled.

Every time Ive been there, Ive gotten very good treatment, Biehl revealed.

Ive gotten very good respect from them.

Everybody in the aligned staff has been extremely nice and just hospitable, so Im not yet sure when an offer would come, but Im just hoping it comes at some point, and Ill be really happy if it does.

Biehl plans to visit Miami this Saturday for his fourth visit with the Canes.

He also has offers from Kansas, Stanford, Duke, UCF, USF, Indiana and others.

The USC womens basketball coach Thursday landed a commitment from 6-2 Ayla McDowell of Cypress, Texas.

McDowell made her official visit with the Gamecocks the weekend of Oct.

4.

One thing important to me is I have to be happy wherever I go.

I felt happy there, McDowell told reporters following her announcement.

I was surrounded by great teammates and coaches.

I felt comfortable.

I just loved it there.

Last season McDowell averaged 20 points and nine rebounds per game.
