Pat McAfee rages ESPN NBA analysts are ‘impossible to work with’ as host advertises for new live TV role

THE NBA season is underway but Pat McAfee still doesn't have a plan in place for basketball analysis.

Pat McAfee is struggling to find a guest analyst for NBA coverage on his show.

On Wednesday, McAfee took to X to express his frustrations with not finding an NBA expert for his show.

"I need an NBA expert(s) for the program...

not everyday..

just someone to FaceTime periodically thru the season," he wrote .

"I will pay, because I pay everybody for their contributions to our show." Surprisingly, McAfee called out ESPN for making it difficult to find talent to use on his show.

when licensing our show thru ESPN, we thought itd be easy to get NBA folks from the ESPN roster," he continued.

"That has not been the case..

The @ESPNNBA crew has been rather impossible to work with due to their daily scheduling during season..

afternoons are TOUGH for the entire group." McAfee decided to acquire the talent on his on, putting out a call on social media for fans to share who they want to see on the show.

Cheers." Fans were quick to share which of their favorite players they wanted to see on the show in the comments of McAfee's post.

"Jeff Teague suits the progrum.

Has bunch of fun stories too," one fan said.

"Wait a year and get Charles Barkley," another fan said.

"Get Sheed on there man.

He gives it straight.

Rasheed Wallace ftw!" a third fan said.

"Look to some Wizards legends - Kwame Brown or Gilbert Arenas," a fourth fan said.

Some players even shouted themselves out in the comments for a shot to get on the show.

Pat McAfee enjoyed a hugely successful stint before switching to a career in the media.

The talk show star played punter in the NFL for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.

He was a seventh round NFL Draft pick in 2009 out of West Virginia and spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts.

The ex-punter was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016, and he was a first team All-Pro in 2014, as well.

McAfee owns the unique NFL record of the highest career net average punting yards with 41.4 yards while his longest ever punt was 74.

Baron Davis, a 13-year NBA veteran, put his name in the hat to make an appearance on the show.

"Need help?! I gotcha back!" he wrote.

It is strange that ESPN isn't able to produce even one NBA analyst for McAfee, even if it were one of their lower-level talents.

McAfee has enough influence in the sports world that he probably won't have an issue finding a fill-in, but fans will have to wait to find out who it is..
