Former Alabama QB feels Jalen Milroe has not progress in ‘any form’

The recent play of Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has become highly scrutinized by some in the month of October, particularly after completing 25 of 45 passes for 239 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Tides road-loss to Tennessee.

Milroe has had a rollercoaster go of things under center for the Tide after being considered a marquee Heisman candidate, a top QB in the country and a possible 2025 NFL 1st round draft prospect for much of the first month of the season.

Former Alabama quarterback, AJ McCarron did not hold back when asked his assessment of the Tides second-year starter on the McCready & Siskey podcast after seeing Milroe have his worst statical performance this season.

Its hard because I like the kid a lot, and I think hes a good college player, McCarron said.

Hes just not the quarterback that he wants to be, which is fine.

There are many different quarterbacks now.

But when have we seen him be accurate? Ive been saying it from the get-go.

He hasnt progressed from last year to this year in any form.

He still get way up on his front toe throwing, he locks his front leg out, he falls back, he is super over the top.

Milroe has completed 121 of his 171 pass attempts this season for 1,722 yards, 13 passing touchdowns.

He has also added 11 rushing touchdowns and 330 rushing yards.

This equates to a 68.4 completion percentage and a quarterback rating of 80.7%, which Milroe ranks 15th & 14th overall in the country among college passers.
