Jets WR Davante Adams comments on team's underwhelming offense

New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams thinks the team's offense is leaving plenty of meat on the bone.

In Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh (5-2), the Jets squandered an early 15-6 lead, and the Steelers scored the game's final 31 points.

Following the loss, Adams recently acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders noted the team's offense underperformed.

"We have got a lot of talent," Adams said, via John Pullano of the team's website.

"The weapons that we have, I mean, I'm in the huddle today and multiple times I was just looking around and thinking it's kind of crazy.

Knowing that you got those types of weapons and to come up short and to put up 15 points...I mean, there's more we can do for sure." On paper, the Jets offense looks stacked.

Along with Adams, it features quarterback Aaron Rodgers, running back Breece Hall and wideout Garrett Wilson.

However, the unit has consistently failed to execute, which was evident against Pittsburgh.

Rodgers threw two interceptions to rookie cornerback Beanie Bishop Jr., and New York went 3-of-10 on third-down conversion attempts.

Adams finished with just three receptions for 30 yards on nine targets.

"It felt like the energy and it starts with me the energy, for whatever reason at halftime, was a little flat," he said, per ESPN's Rich Cimini .

"It felt like it was flat before the game, too.

So, I look at myself and what I can do to bring better energy, but we all have to do better." Perhaps the Jets' 2-5 start is one reason they seem deflated.

The offense's problems probably don't raise morale.

New York ranks 24th in the league in points scored (18.3) and 23rd in yards (307 YPG).

Unless the Jets find an offensive spark, expect them to keep leaving points on the board, which may cost them more games.

While it's only one loss, Adams may wonder if reuniting with Rodgers his Green Bay Packers teammate from 2014-21 was a mistake..
