ALCS Gm5, NYY @ CLE: Carlos Rodón vs. Tanner Bibee

If Carlos Rodon has one more good start in him this October, the Yankees stand a great chance at winning their 41st American League pennant tonight.
After two nerve-wracking games in Cleveland, the club comes into Game 5 up 3-1, looking to pop champagne in the Progressive Field clubhouse.
Rodon has made two starts this October: one bad one in the ALDS and a strong outing earlier this week to open this series.
On Monday night in the Bronx, Carlos threw six innings allowing a single earned run, striking out nine and critically surrendering just three hits.
Weve seen how the Guardians can put together runs with a bunch of contact, and Rodons ability to limit that in Game 1 was a huge part of his success.
With how much the Yankee bullpen has had to work and how much success and familiarity Clevelands getting against them another six or so innings would be huge from the lefty.
Marcus Stroman could potentially get the first call out of the bullpen, as Clay Holmes, Luke Weaver, Tim Hill, and Tommy Kahnle have all seen plenty of batters in this round.
Work from Tim Mayza or reprise performances from Game 4 pitchers Jake Cousins and Mark Leiter Jr.
are also on the table.
Tanner Bibee gets his second start of this series, after crashing out in Game 2 and throwing just 39 pitchers over 1.1 innings.
He was never expected to go crazy deep against the powerful heart of the Yankee order, but Stephen Vogt has to be hoping for a little more length tonight, even on three days rest.
Staring down elimination though, every hiccough will see someone stirring in the home bullpen.
Cleveland has little choice but to overwork their relievers once again.
Guardians pitching going into Game 5 of the ALCS A LOT of red for a bullpen budget! Their top 5 guys would be going back-to-back-to-back in an elimination game.
Bibee only 39 pitches in Game 2, but he's on 3 days rest.
pic.twitter.com/9jERrjXPpG Giancarlo Stanton, building himself a pretty good case for ALCS MVP if this series ends tonight (Rodon would be a contender as well with another standout start), finds himself back in the cleanup spot behind Aaron Judge.
Aaron Boone noted yesterday his concern about a lane of left-handed hitters at the bottom of the order, but keeping Stanton, as hot as his is right now, in the highest leverage spot possible must count for more.
Jazz Chisholm Jr.
slides back to fifth, and Austin Wells is once again behind the dish, batting eighth.
