Suns superstar ‘not thinking’ about contract extension, uncertain on future | Sporting News

Kevin Durant has played for three teams over his past five seasons.
As a player who spent the first nine seasons of his career with one franchise, he may not prefer rapid relocation, especially not at 36.
That said, since last year's trade to the Phoenix Suns, hes been asked to make himself at home.
So, with Mondays deadline for Durant to sign a one-year contract extension, many are wondering what hell decide .
Im not even thinking about it.
Im just going to play out my contract really, and just focus on that, Durant tells reporters after Thursdays practice.
Focus on the team.
I havent even really had conversations with anybody about a contract.
Just trying to focus on basketball.
Asked how he maintains his focus on basketball when the business of the NBA becomes a focal point, he says: I just play the game.
Ive been blessed enough to be in this position for 18 years and so Im not really focused on the money part of it.
Im just trying to keep getting better and keep growing my game and see how good I can get.
Thats always been my main focus.
When (the) time will come, the time will come.
Right now, I got two seasons left on my deal, so Im going to focus on those two.
If Durant doesnt sign an extension by Monday, hell be eligible for a two-year contract extension next offseason.
Such a deal could carry him through the end of his career.
Time will tell how the future Hall-Of-Famer decides to handle the upcoming deadline, but the superstar isn't concerned.
