Aces fall just short in their comeback against the Liberty

The Aces who were playing without Aja Wilson fell to the Liberty 75-71.

With the win, the Liberty improve to 29-6, while the Aces fall to 22-13.

Alysha Clark and Jackie Young both started the quarter well, scoring 8 points each.

Things changed in the second quarter, when the Aces went cold after going 6-11 from three with 8 assists.

In the second quarter, they went 1-3 from three and had one assist.

New York led by as many as 12 at halftime, 45-33, with Breanna Stewart scoring 14 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.

With Aja Wilson out, the Aces were dominated on the boards in the first half, being out-rebounded 21-11.

The game seemed to be slipping away from the Aces as the Liberty took their largest lead of the game at 20 63-43 with 2:35 left.

The Aces bench went on a run to close the quarter bringing the Aces within 11, 64-51.

The Aces would go on a 12-0 run to trim the deficit to three, 64-61, with 6:40 left in the fourth quarter.

Sabrina Ionescu responded with a monster shot of her own, giving the Liberty a 72-71 lead with 43 seconds left.

The Aces would go scoreless in the last 40 seconds, falling 75-71 to the Liberty.

Box Score The Liberty had three players score in double digits, lead by Breanna Stewart with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Jonquel Jones finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Sabrina Ionescu had 14 points, including a critical jumper that put New York back up late in the game.

Three Aces scored in double digits, led by Kelsey Plum, who had 25 points, 6 assist and knocked down 5 three pointers.

Jackie Young ended with 12 points, while Alysha Clark had 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Sydney Colson scored 8 points and Tiffany Hayes finished with 7.

On Wednesday, the Las Vegas Aces will travel to Indiana to take on the Fever.

Tip off is set for 4 p.m.
