Big 12 football had parity before parity was cool, but its not in the conferences best interest to have a bunch of good teams spreading wins around.

A couple of big winners is the best ticket to multiple teams in the College Football Playoff.

Que Brigham Young and Iowa State.

The Cougars and Cyclones remained unbeaten Saturday with impressive victories.

BYU blasted Arizona 41-19, and Iowa State won 28-16 at West Virginia, and now both are 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Were only a third of the way through the conference schedule, so were a long way from a couple of 12-0 teams meeting in Arlington (ISU and BYU do not meet in the regular season).

Kansas State remains quite potent, Texas Tech is 3-0 in the league and five other teams are 2-1.

But for now, BYU and Iowa State look like the class of the league.

Brigham Young (6-0, 3-0): The Cougars produced four takeaways, including two in the first two minutes of the third quarter that set up 10 points against Arizona.

2.

Iowa State (6-0, 3-0): The Cyclones held West Virginia to 150 rushing yards (WVU had 394 at Oklahoma State) and beat the Mountaineers 28-16.

3.

Kansas State (5-1, 2-1): Great win at Colorado, with quarterback Avery Johnson hitting Jayce Brown for a 50-yard touchdown pass that put the Wildcats ahead 31-28 in the final 212 minutes.

4.

Texas Tech (5-1, 3-0): The Red Raiders should keep winning; their next two games are against Baylor and Texas Christian.

5.

Arizona State (5-1, 2-1): Another huge game for tailback Cam Skattebo, who rushed for 158 yards in a 27-19 win over Utah.

6.

Colorado (4-2, 2-1): Give Deion Sanders team credit it hung in there well against K-State, even after two-way star Travis Hunter left the game early with an injury.

7.

Cincinnati (4-2, 2-1): UC quarterback Brendan Sorsby threw two interceptions in a 19-13 survival of Central Florida, but otherwise, Sorsby again was really productive, completing 25 of 38 passes for 241 yards.

8.

West Virginia (3-3, 2-1): Take away the Albany game, and Mountaineer quarterback Garrett Greene has more interceptions (six) than touchdown passes (five), which he also did against Iowa State.

9.

Arizona (3-3, 1-2): Quarterback Noah Fifitas troubles continued at BYU (three interceptions); against Big 12 teams, he has a 3:7 ratio of touchdowns to interceptions.

10.

Utah (4-2, 1-2): Cameron Risings return didnt help the Utes offense.

The seven-year quarterback threw three interceptions and completed just 16 of 37 against Arizona State.

11.

Oklahoma State (3-3, 0-3): Well see if Garrett Rangel makes a difference at quarterback against BYU.

12.

Central Florida (3-3, 1-2): Gus Malzahn benched quarterback K.J.

Jefferson in favor of Jacurri Brown, but it didnt help against Cincinnati, a 19-13 loss.

13.

Houston (2-4, 1-2): Can the Cougars continue the momentum of a one-game winning streak with new quarterback Zeon Chriss? 14.

Texas Christian (3-3, 1-2): The Horned Frogs could rally their remaining six Big 12 opponents are 7-11 in conference.

15.

Baylor (2-4, 0-3): Same with the Bears.

A relatively easy finishing schedule in conference.

16.

Kansas (1-5, 0-3): These are not the old days of Jayhawk football, but I doubt that makes Lance Leipold feel better.
