Its no secret that theres plenty of heat in Arizonaand were not talking about the scorching hot sun.

No, were talking about the kind generated by the mighty moundsmen who will soon take the field for the 2025 Arizona Fall League.This years AFL is filled with the usual mix of pitchers making up for time lost to injuries, vying for spots on the 40-man roster before the Rule 5 draft and putting the finishing touches on their game before their big league debut.

Their bodies, handedness and arsenals vary, but plenty of them come equipped with fastballs that have at least touched triple-digits this year.

The 6-foot-7 righthander spent most of his season at High-A Peoria and finished the year with 61 strikeouts and 37 walks in 46.1 innings.JP Wheat, RHP, CubsMax Velocity: 100.6 mphWheat was identified by scouts this spring as a pitcher to watch once the regular season got underway.

Unfortunately, hes been on the injured list since early June.

He mixes his prodigious heater with a slider and changeup.Brett Gillis RHP, AstrosMax Velocity: 100.6 mphGillis was Houstons ninth-round pick in 2022 out of the University of Portland but has been limited by injuries to just 54 innings.

In fact, Gillis pitched just 7.1 innings between 2022-2024.

He worked 46.2 frames this year at High-A Asheville and struck out 52 while walking just 15.Najer Victor, RHP, AngelsMax Velocity: 100.6 mphOne pick after they took the above-mentioned Fulton Lockhart in 2024, the Angels doubled up on heat by adding Victor, another live arm from the Sunshine State.

In his first full season as a pro, Victors numbers were mixed.

He also walked 37 hitters and threw strikes at a clip of just 57%.

Still, guys who reach triple-digits tend to get plenty of chances, and Peters will have another opportunity to impress in the desert.Brock Moore, RHP, MarinersMax Velocity: 100.4 mphMoore brought the heat at Oregon, and hes done the same since turning pro.

The 25-year-old righthander missed about two months at midseason on the injured list but struck out 26 in 18.2 innings at High-A Everett.

Problem is, he also walked 28 hitters in that same span and threw strikes at a clip of just 52%.

Tucker Musgrove, RHP, PadresMax Velocity: 100.0 mphMusgrove was San Diegos seventh-round choice in 2023 out of college in Alabama.

Selected as a two-way player, the righthander has only pitched as a professional and did not play at all in 2024.
