Edisto and Orangeburg-Wilkinson renew their county rivalry Friday at O-W High School.

The Bruins currently lead the series 13-2 and have won 11 straight dating back to 2005.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson rallied for a 25-22 win over Edisto in Cordova last season.

Last years loss showed that we have to good in all three phases (of the game), Edisto head coach Marcus Livingston said.

(O-W) has the ability to spread the ball around, so we cant just key in on one (player).

This game is going to be won in the trenches so its important for us to establish our physicality early (in the game).

Edisto opened the season with a loss to rival Bamberg-Ehrhardt but have won back-to-back games against Blackville-Hilda (34-0) and Calhoun County (36-13).

Livingston said his offense is still trying to find its way after losing starting quarterback Jason Worthington to an ACL injury before the start of the season.

Our defense has led the way early, Livingston said.

We were able to open our last two games with interceptions returned for touchdowns, and hopefully that takes some pressure off the offense.

Trance Chisolm has been taking snaps and hes very athletic.

Hes starting to come along.

Orangeburg-Wilkinsons Derrick Thomas rushed for 222 yards and a touchdown against the Cougars last season.

He had a touchdown run last week against Airport.

The Bruins are currently 2-0 and have posted back-to-back shutouts to open the season.
