Luka Doncic Forces Rival Coach to Suddenly Quit After Dominant Performance

Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Luka Doncic continues to dazzle at the 2025 EuroBasket tournament.

In the meantime, Doncic is playing otherworldly overseas, so much so that he prompted Italy's head coach, Gianmarco Pozzecco, to resign following Doncic's dominant performance against his club.

After Doncic's home country of Slovenia defeated Italy in the Round of 16, Pozzecco announced that he would resign.

The five-time NBA All-Star recorded 42 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

On top of that, Doncic reached 30 points by halftime the fourth time he has done so this tournament.

Luka Doncic Suffered a Scary Injury Although the All-NBA guard played great, he did suffer a scary injury in the game.

In the first quarter of the match, Doncic suffered an apparent leg injury after bumping into Italy guard Alessandro Pajola.

He was in pain, but he returned and finished the game the only way he knew how.

"Yeah," Doncic said.

"Yes, it hurts.

I have to go for recovery now.

But it will be fine," he added.

In six games this tournament, Doncic has averaged 34.0 points per game, 8.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 3.2 steals per game thus far.

Next up for Doncic and Slovenia will be Germany in the quarterfinal round for a chance to move on to the Semifinals.
