When you win the MVP, NBA Finals MVP, the scoring title and a championship ring in one year, you enter some all-time conversations. The Oklahoma City Thunder had one of the greatest seasons ever.
They had a historic 68-14 regular-season record with the widest point differential ever.
That meant they blew teams out every other night.
Gilgeous-Alexander is the face of the eventual NBA champion. The celebrations haven't stopped since the Thunder won Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.
He's become a household name and has dethroned college student governments for the "SGA" acronym.
On the day the SHAI: 001 "Butter" shoes dropped, Gilgeous-Alexander went on national television.Gilgeous-Alexander appeared on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon.
The talk show host brought up one of his childhood photos geared up in football attire.
As the NFL kicked off its 2025 regular season with Week 1, the MVP winner said he had no chance of playing football."No chance," Gilgeous-Alexander joked.
"I wouldn't disrespect them like that.
Just like how they can't come on the basketball court, I can't go on the football field."Gilgeous-Alexander recounted his brief football interest.

After just a handful of practices, he called it quits as he had zero tolerance for agonizing pain."I quit very quickly," Gilgeous-Alexander said.
"I played running back, so I got hit a lot.
And I, like, fell on the ball when I got tackled a couple times."That's fair.
And considering Gilgeous-Alexander's success in the NBA with an unconventional pathway to superstardom, he lives with absolutely no regrets for focusing on basketball instead.
The 27-year-old is one of the league's top players.Considering the Thunder are the consensus favorite to be a rare repeat champion, another ring could put Gilgeous-Alexander in the same territory as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

I played running back, so I got hit a lot.
