Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Khalil Davis is coming out of retirement and signing with the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL, according to James Larsen.

Davis announced his retirement in July from football, but is now back a little bit over a month later.

Davis, who had played in the NFL since 2020, had hopped around multiple teams but failed to sign anywhere this offseason.

The San Francisco 49ers traded for Davis last year at the trade deadline, but did he bring him back this offseason.

Without a stable team every year, Davis almost walked away from football but will give it another shot.

Before the trade, Davis, 28, had spent the last two seasons with the Houston Texans .

Davis was signed by the Steelers in 2021 when he joined his brother, Carlos Davis, in Pittsburgh.

A sixth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2020 NFL Draft, Davis has spent time in the NFL and the USFL while trying to achieve his NFL dream.

Over his career, he has spent time with the Buccaneers, Texans, Steelers , Indianapolis Colts, and Los Angeles Rams.

Davis had two sacks and 34 tackles over his career in the NFL.

He was a Super Bowl and USFL champion over his career in both leagues..
