Dirk Nowitzki’s NBA Advice For Cooper Flagg

If you play for the Boston Celtics or the Los Angeles Lakers, youre going to have plenty of old timers who will be happy to give you advice.
If youre a Celtic, you might be able to call on people like Satch Sanders, Bob Cousy, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and others.
The Lakers could hook you up with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Gail Goodrich, James Worthy, Michael Cooper and others who would be keen to advise you on Lakers tradition.
With the Mavericks? Your options are more limited.
Coach Jason Kidd is an option.
You might not like what Luka Doncic has to say.
Maybe Steve Nash.
If youre a bigger player though, theres one guy youll want to hear from more than any other, and thats Dirk Nowitzki.
And heres what Nowitzki, who was once recruited by Duke before heading to the NBA, had for Flagg: Im not quite sure I can help him with advice.
The only thing is keep your eyes and ears open.
Keep learning from your veterans.
Hes got some incredible players on the team now with Kyrie, obviously Klay.
ADs been around forever.
Theres so much knowledge there that he can tap into and learn from.
Ask questions.
How are their pregame routines? What do they eat? How do they prepare for events? What do they do with appearances? How do they interact with the media? That was key for me at the beginning, watching Michael Finley, who was a true pro.
Steve Nash, learning from them.
For not wanting to give advice in the first place, Nowitzkis is really smart.
