The Dallas Stars ' prospect pool may not be the deepest in the NHL, but recent rankings show there are still several players who could shape the team's future.

The Dallas Stars have built their roster around an elite NHL core, but that doesn't mean their pipeline should be ignored.

Khalid Keshavjee at Rinksiders recently ranked the organization's top 10 prospects, highlighting the names that could soon play important roles for Dallas.

His full breakdown can be found here , but the top five players offer plenty of reasons for Stars fans to keep watching closely.

From undersized scorers to a towering blue-line presence, the list shows the diversity of talent Dallas has quietly gathered.

The top 3 Dallas Stars prospects worth following closely 3.

Cameron Schmidt At just 5'8", Schmidt is one of the most intriguing names on the list.

A dynamic winger for the Vancouver Giants, he posted 78 points last season and showcased both speed and vision.

Drafted in the third round, he carries the "boom-or-bust" label because of his size, but his offensive upside is undeniable.

If he proves he can handle the physical game, Dallas could have a steal.

2.

Ayrton Martino Selected in the third round of the 2021 draft, Martino is coming off a breakout season at Clarkson University with 51 points and a Hobey Baker finalist nod.

His ability to protect the puck and create offense has even drawn comparisons to Mikko Rantanen .

If he adjusts quickly to the AHL, Martino could make the jump to Dallas sooner rather than later.

"His game is built for the NHL pace, it's just about experience now," one scout told Rinksiders.

1.

Lian Bichsel Standing at 6'7", Bichsel headlines the list as Dallas's top prospect.

The young defenseman has already shown he can hold his own in NHL action, using his reach and strength to frustrate opponents.

He projects as a long-term top-four piece and could push for top-pairing minutes in the future.

While his name has occasionally surfaced in trade speculation, the expectation remains that he'll secure a full-time NHL spot this season.

With Bichsel ready for a bigger role, Martino pushing for AHL-to-NHL transition, and Schmidt flashing offensive upside, the Stars' system may not be stacked, but it does contain difference-makers.

I believe this is exactly the type of group that can complement Dallas's core and help extend their Stanley Cup window..
