49ers player on the bubble ended the preseason with a terrific performance and now waits to see if he made the 53-man roster

The San Francisco 49ers ' QB situation seemed like an open and shut case just a few weeks ago.
Brock Purdy is the starter and Mac Jones is the backup, and that remains the case on the depth chart.
However, Jones' suffering a knee sprain forced him to miss the team's final preseason game, which increases the chances that the team could carry a third QB on their initial 53-man roster.
If they elect to go that route, two players are fighting for that job: Carter Bradley and Tanner Mordecai.
Mordecai's time with the team looked to be over earlier this month after the 49ers chose to waive the QB.
The injury to Jones brought him back, allowing him one last preseason game to try to beat Bradley out.
He certainly left it all on the field in an effort to do just that.

He outplayed Bradley on the day, who finished 8/14 for 71 yards and a touchdown.
The QB3 job may not matter to some, but 49ers fans have already begun calling for the job to go to Mordecai over Bradley via social media.
An element some think could play a factor, though, is the fact that Bradley's father is on the 49ers' defensive staff, former Super Bowl champion defensive coordinator Gus Bradley .
If that is taken into consideration at all, that is truly a shame, as the job should simply go to the player the team feels best equipped to man the offense in an emergency situation.
If that is Bradley, so be it, but Mordecai made a solid argument for why he could be the better QB in the team's preseason finale.
We will have to wait until Tuesday, August 26, also known as NFL cutdown day, to see if the 49ers will even keep three QBs for the time being.
If they do, though, fans will be eager to see which QB the team elects to give the roster spot to.
