Dolphins Workout Kicker Eddy PineiroNFL Insider Jordan Schultz is reporting that the Miami Dolphins worked out kicker Eddy Pineiro today. The Dolphins must add a kicker with Jason Sanders out 4 to 5 weeks minimum with a hip injury.Sanders has been Miamis kicker since 2018 and one of the better kickers in the NFL over that time.Last year for Miami, he was 26 of 28 on extra points and 37 of 41 on field goals.Source: The #Dolphins worked out K Eddy Pineiro today. The 29-year-old owns an 88.1% career FG percentage.

pic.twitter.com/ddRQ4nhb3y Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) August 26, 2025Pineiro was born and raised in Miami, FL, and played college football at Florida. He has kicked for the Raiders, Bears, Colts, Commanders, Jets, and Panthers.Last season, in 17 games with the Carolina Panthers, Pineiro was 22 of 26 on field goals, including 1 of 2 on field goals over 50 yards. He also made 33 of 35 extra points on the season. From a PFF perspective, he scored out 59.9 and was ranked 34 out of 43 kickers.Miami is in an interesting situation because you are only allowed a few IR spots where a player can return in-season once being placed on IR.Do you want to waste one on a kicker? For as great as Sanders has been for the Dolphins, you may want to save those valuable IR spots for position players who have more value. And you always want to have one or two of those designated to return from IR in your back pocket, in case God forbid a key player gets hurt in November and such, so you can bring them back late in the season. You can make the case Miami should place Sanders on IR and end his season now, but I am unsure if they would.More on this story as it develops. The post Dolphins Workout Kicker Eddy Pineiro appeared first on Miami Dolphins..
