Arch Manning isn’t ruling out 2026 draft — despite NFL legend grandfather’s comments

Arch Manning spent part of his media availability on Monday clearing up comments his grandfather had made a few weeks prior.

Former Ole Miss and New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning told Texas Monthly that NFL teams shouldnt hold their breath to see his grandson in the draft next April but thats not a decision that Arch had made as of Tuesday.

Yeah, I dont know where he got that from, Arch told reporters.

He texted me and apologized about that.

Im really just taking it day by day right now.

Arch is eligible to enter the 2026 NFL Draft and there have been questions about his intentions after the 2025 college football season, his first as the programs starting quarterback.

Archie later told ESPN that the comment was made as an assumption.

I thought that the thing that I said was that to name Arch to postseason awards and start placing him in the NFL draft was ridiculous when he hadnt played, he told the outlet.

But then, of course, then the fact I said that he might be at Texas, thats just an assumption on my part.

Arch and I have a really good grandson-grandfather relationship, but I havent been part of this football journey.
