Hockey fans in Salt Lake City raised their glasses to the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday night quite a few times.

Front Office Sports reporter A.J.

Perez posted to social media on Wednesday that the first home game for the newly relocated franchise saw a record number in beer sales.

In fact, it brought in the most by any sporting event held at Delta Center, even though the Utah Jazz have played there for more than 30 years.

Beer sales during the Utah Hockey Clubs inaugural game last night totaled $120,000, the most sold for an NBA or NHL contest held at the Delta Center.

The Jazz have played at the arena since 1991.

In addition to a red carpet-style arrival at the arena, they defeated Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 to open up the season.

The Club now starts a four-game road trip before returning to Delta Center to host the Boston Bruins.

We'll have to wait and see if those booze sales stay sky-high..
