The Wild and Marco Rossi have agreed to a contract that will pay the 23-year-old center $15 million over the next three seasons, a source confirmed Friday.

Rossi was a restricted free agent, giving the team an upper hand in contract negotiations.

His only option was to sign an offer sheet with another team, but Wild President of Hockey Operations Bill Guerin said earlier this summer he would match any offer.

Last season was Rossis best since the Wild drafted him in the first round, ninth overall, in 2020, as he posted career highs in goals (24), assists (36) and points (60) to finish second in scoring on the Wild as one of only three players to appear in every game.

But after playing on the first line during the regular season, Rossi was shifted to the fourth in the playoffs vs.

Vegas where he scored twice and had an assist.

After the Wild were knocked out of the first round in six games, Rossi made it clear he believes hes a top-six forward but said, I dont know.

Well see, when asked if he understood what his role next season would be.

The Wild and Rossis camp traded contract offers, with the Wild proposing short and long-term deals, but the stalemate persisted.

We like Marco, Guerin said in early July.

He had a very good year for us.

Hes a good hockey player.

But we have a structure in our pay that we have him slotted in at a certain level, and thats just the way were doing our business.

The NHL salary cap is $95.5 million for 2025-26.

According to spotrac.com , the Wild now has $4.4 million in cap room.

The team is expected to open training camp Sept.
