The Milwaukee Brewers had their 14-game win streak snapped Sunday by the Reds, then dropped two straight for the first time since July 25-26 in Tuesdays doubleheader sweep.

Losing feels unfamiliar, and certainly things can change in a hurry, but this team is in great shape moving forward.

Yesterdays game 2 starter Brandon Woodruff made sure to remind fans of that big-picture fact.

Despite disappointing doubleheader, Milwaukee Brewers are doing just fine It was a rough start for Woodruff.

Needing a season-high 94 pitches to get through 4.1 innings, he allowed an uncharacteristic amount of traffic on the bases.

On five hits and three walks, the Cubs pushed across three runs to knock Woodruff out of the game.

For Woodruff, the damage came down to not executing pitches in big spots, though all in all he was happy with his stuff and struck out six batters.

Notwithstanding, Chicago went on to complete the sweep in a 4-1 win.

Of course, even so, the Brewers maintain a seven-game lead in the NL Central; their 79-47 record is five games better than baseballs next closest team, the Tigers.

They can keep their division stranglehold intact by splitting the last two contests against the Cubs to end the five-game series.

Asked how the team is handling the losing streak, Woodruff couldnt keep an amused smile from breaking through his copious red whiskers.

I think were in a dang good spot.

Were playing really good baseball, and, look, youre not gonna win every game.

Thats a good team over there, we know it, were also a good team.

Were not affected by losing two games in a row.

Thats just baseball, Woodruff said.

To the Brewers credit, they fought out both games until the end, clawing back from a 5-0 deficit in the first match and keeping the nightcap within reach.

Ultimately, the offense just couldnt get enough going to make up for mediocre starts from Woodruff and, earlier, Chad Patrick .

Well be ready to go the next two, and see how they play out, Woodruff said.

But we still got a lot of season left.

Coming off 14 wins in a row, you feel like you cant lose another one, then when you lose two in a row you feel like the worlds falling apart.

But its really not, so, were doing just fine.

I promise..
