Ohio State assistant coach James Laurinaitis ignites the Columbus Crew match
Columbus is a great sports town, and there's more to it than just Ohio State football.
The Capital City has two professional franchises that have a very loyal and passionate following with the NHL's Columbus Bluejackets and MLS's Columbus Crew. The Crew has had a lot more success than the long-suffering Bluejackets, and even found a way to keep the team from relocating when things seemed to look like the club was on the way to Austin, Texas, because of the groundswell of local support that flooded MLS.
As a result, the Crew stayed in town and even got a brand new stadium in 2021 out of the whole thing.Another cool thing about Columbus sports is when Ohio State and those professional franchises have some crossover, and that's what happened Friday evening when OSU assistant coach James Laurinaitis showed up to hype up the crowd and ignite the start of the match vs.
Orlando City.
