While rumors of a potential reunion with Twins shortstop Carlos Correa swirled for most of Wednesday, the Astros instead connected with the Orioles on a lower-profile deal, landing infielder Ramon Urias to perhaps plug their vacancy at third base following Isaac Paredes hamstring injury.

In exchange, Houston sent 20-year-old righty Twine Palmer to Baltimore, who did not rank among their Top 30 Prospects.

The Astros drafted the 6-foot-5, 200-pound Palmer in the 19th round of the 2024 draft out of Connors State College in Oklahoma.

He has spent all of 2025 with Low-A Fayetteville, pitching to a 2.13 ERA and a 25.1% strikeout rate to 12.6% walk rate over 42.1 innings.

Palmer hasnt yielded much hard contact this year and sports a 54% groundball rate.

He relies primarily on a low-90s fastball that carries through the zone and has shown the makings of a deep pitch mix, working in a slider, a tighter cutter, a curveball and even an infrequent low-80s changeup.

Hell need to harness it all for more consistent strikes.

Urias, 31, is a low-risk acquisition who is under team control through 2026 and owns an 89 wRC+ through 77 games this year.

He has mostly played third base this season but has moved around the infield in the past.
