ESPN | Associated Press : Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes, who has been sidelined since September 18th with a left elbow injury, will throw today ahead of Game 2.

The lead story this time was Giancarlo Stantons speed, as the designated hitters cement-blockedness of foot cost the Yankees at least two runs on Saturday night.

As Aaron Boone noted, this was not the result of Stanton not hustling, but the fact that years of injuries have sapped his ability to run.

The other major note was about Yankees starter Carlos Rodon, who credits his diet to his bounceback 2024; he did note, though, that All of us like eating ice cream.

AP News | Ronald Blum : One of the stories of Saturdays game was, unfortunately, the umpiring, with particular emphasis placed on Jazz Chisholms stolen base that would ultimately become the winning run.

Although replays suggested to many that the safe call at second should have been overturned, in the end, the replay officials determined that there was not conclusive evidence to overturn whatever the call on the field was.

At the end of the day, as much as we wish for videogame-level accuracy on these things, were dealing with imperfect systems fortunately, the Yankees wound up on the right side of it this time..
