Here are the six former Huskers to be induced into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame

The latest induction class for the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame includes skill players from multiple eras and a special nod to the programs first Heisman Trophy winner.

Nebraska on Wednesday announced its newest round of honorees as voted on by the chapters membership.

They are offensive lineman Tom Welter (1980s era), running backs Derek Brown (1990s era) and the late Dahrran Diedrick (2000-07 era), kicker/punter Brett Maher (2008-15 era) and receiver Kenny Bell (2008-15 era).

Linebacker Bob Nelson (1972-74 letterwinner) enters as a veteran inductee while UNO linebacker Tom Sutko (1978-80 letterwinner) is this years state college representative.

The entity will also celebrate its first Hall of Fame Legend honoree in 1972 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Rodgers, who entered the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame in 1973.

Others recognized are Nebraska deputy A.D.

Dennis Leblanc (Lyell Bremser Special Merit Award) and longtime team orthopedic surgeon Robert Dugas (Clarence Swanson Memorial Award).

The class will be officially inducted at a ceremony on Friday, Sept.

12, and be honored the next day at Memorial Stadium during Nebraskas game against Houston Christian.
