Good morning! Beat your rival today.

There are some Sundays in sports that are simply momentous.

They usually center around a major season-ending matchup.

Yesterday featured neither, and yet had the unmistakable air of an Important Sports DayTM.

Thus, I simply wondered who had the best day.

And naturally, the next thought was that you should vote, too.

Here goes my ranking, from worst to first: 4.

Grace Kims unbelievable comeback Kim won the Evian Championship yesterday in a scenario I dont think I could even invent in my backyard.

She: Just an unbelievable day .

Kim, ranked No.

99, is 24 and entered the tournament with one LPGA Tour win.

Now she has a major title and an even better story to tell.

3.

Cole Palmer and his money-making foot There is no possible scenario better for Chelsea than this at the Club World Cup, which the team won yesterday by defeating Paris Saint-Germain, kings of the world, 3-0 .

It was not long ago that the Premier League blueblood agonized over whether to keep Mauricio Pochettino as coach and had to overhaul its roster.

Now, Chelsea enters next season with two of the worlds best players Cole Palmer (two goals yesterday) and Joao Pedro and an extra $114 million in prize money to spend.

And the club has already qualified for Champions League next year.

Now we can legitimately wonder if the Blues can win the Premier League next year.

A great day indeed.

Look how mad PSG manager Luis Enrique was about it after the match: Well get to our top two after a news break.

Before that, a few honorable mentions that just missed the cut: On to some news: NFLPA backs Howell despite controversy NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell will remain in his position, sources told The Athletic , after the head man came under fire this week for perceived conflicts of interest.

Howell also works for The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm recently approved to buy minority stakes in NFL franchises.

Lets finish our list: 2.

Eli Willits makes history With the No.

1 pick in yesterdays MLB Draft, the Nationals selected 17-year-old Eli Willits, a switch-hitting shortstop from Oklahoma.

Willits is the youngest No.

1 pick in the draft since someone named Ken Griffey Jr.

went first overall in 1987.

Keith Law has Willits as the No.

8 prospect in this class.

Also notable in the draft yesterday: LSUs Kade Anderson, whom Law had going No.

1 in his final mock draft, dropped to the Mariners at No.

3, while Ethan Holliday son of Matt Holliday and brother of Jackson Holliday went No.

4 to Colorado , where his father played for six seasons.

Just look at the cute picture of Ethan wearing Rockies gear as a tot: Meant to be pic.twitter.com/Ua1T5h3xT6 Colorado Rockies (@Rockies) July 13, 2025 1.

Jannik Sinner, of course In a list I struggled with, this was the easiest choice.

I am smitten with tennis Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz rivalry, which has officially dispelled any remaining notion for general fans that Novak Djokovic still runs this sport.

Sinner beat Alcaraz in four sets yesterday 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to win his first Wimbledon title.

This comes after the pairs monumental French Open final match, which Alcaraz won dramatically.

Sinner had also lost five straight matches to Alcaraz before yesterday.

What a rivalry.

These two, only 55 years old combined, have won the last seven mens major titles and eight of the last nine.

The new era of mens tennis is here in stone.

I honestly wonder if Djokovic can win another one now.

I do want to hear from you, though.

You can vote on who you think had the best day.

Was it: Make your voice heard here .

Well run the results tomorrow.
