MLB All-Star Game selection needs work to promote merit over marketing

MLB still has the best All-Star Game, but that doesnt mean its perfect.

Far from it.

The fan voting is much improved, but the league selection process needs work.

Seiya Suzuki, Michael Busch, Cristopher Sanchez and of course Juan Soto shouldnt be sitting home while MLB invites middle relievers and a just-promoted rookie.

Some veteran players arent thrilled to see the uber-talented fireballing rookie Jacob Misiorowski make it as a replacement after five MLB starts .

Many fans will enjoy The Miz.

But merit should rule, not marketing.
