Kansas high school football prospect Drake DeBaun has flipped his commitment.

DeBaun, who will be a senior at Shawnee Mission South High School in the fall, announced he is now going to Iowa State.

He posted on social media that he will now head to Ames and the Big 12.

He is ranked as the No.

12 tight end prospect in Kansas and 65th overall at his position for the Class of 2026 by 247Sports .

With the commitment of DeBaun, the Iowa State recruiting class now sits at 17 for that season.

He is the first tight end and the fourth skill position player joining Caleb Francois of Minnesota, Milan Parris out of Ohio and Jeffrey Roberts from Iowa.

As a junior, DeBaun caught 34 passes for almost 400 yards with five touchdowns in just nine games.

He is also a member of the Shawnee Mission South basketball team.
