The latest addition to Illinois' recruiting board? That would be Class of 2027 guard Marlon Martinez, who started his prep career at Bishop Laughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The 6-foot-3 combo guard won't return to the Lions in 2025-26, however, after transferring to The Academy of Central Florida in Orlando.
Martinez averaged 13.2 points for Bishop Loughlin last season in a tough year for the Lions, who went 7-19.
Martinez, who plays for RI Elite on Puma's Pro16 circuit, has other offers from Mississippi State, La Salle and Fairfield.
He recently participated in the NBA's Basketball Without Borders Americas camp in San Salvador, El Salvador.
He measured in at 6-3 with a 6-9 wingspan and a max vertical of 38 3/4 inches.
Both Martinez and fellow Dominican guard (and 2027 Illinois target) Anderson Diaz participated in the BWB camp.
Diaz was one of eight camp all-stars..
