Brad Keselowski finds himself in awkward spot at NASCAR Chicago welcome party

One-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski found himself in an awkward position at a Chicago welcome party ahead of Sunday's street race in the Windy City.
NASCAR is preparing for its third race on the streets of Chicago, with Shane van Gisbergen winning on his debut in 2023 , followed by Alex Bowman last year .
Sunday could also be NASCAR's last on the street course, with the race losing one of its founding sponsors , McDonald's, earlier this year, and the governing body is yet to commit to a 2026 edition on the calendar.
Ahead of The Loop 100, NASCAR held a welcome party in Chicago, and Keselowski was one of the attendees.

He came close to booking his postseason spot last weekend at Atlanta, where he finished second behind Georgia native Chase Elliott, who passed him on the last lap.
"He (Elliott) just had the 48 (Alex Bowman) behind him giving him a huge push and (there was) nothing I could do to cover that," Keselowski said after the race.
"We had our cars linked up at RFK.
We could do the same thing and we lost that, and then it was just kind of a two-on-one.

"The cars get too big of runs and it ain't over until it's over," Keselowski added.
"Every time I got the lead, I couldn't seem to get everything to go our way.
If we could have got a yellow or anything there, it certainly would have been helpful, but that didn't happen." "I don't think about that (the playoffs), I just want to win," he continued.
"The 48 (Bowman) and 9 (Elliott) were able to double up on me and there wasn't anything I could do." A week before Atlanta at Pocono, Keselowski suffered more bad luck.
Keselowski pitted from the lead while pit road was closed, resulting in a penalty that sent him to the back of the field for the restart on Lap 61.

"This is my fault, let me just be clear with this," Keselowski told Prime Video on its post-race show.
"We held pit road (closed under caution) every pit cycle for three laps.
Normally, they hold pit road for one lap.
So when you get to lap two, it's just an automatic pit.
"So when we were going down the short chute, the team said, 'pit this time,' and I had no reason to challenge them.
Ultimately, I hold the steering wheel and I'm the one that's got to check.
I didn't check the crew chief and the spotter, and that's my fault.".
