If you listen closely, you might be able to hear champagne corks popping in the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex.

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks scored their most significant recruiting victory of the cycle on Thursday, getting a commitment from 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, the No.

8-ranked player in the 2026 class.

At 6-foot-6, 345 pounds, Iheanacho is a prototypical OT with a high upside going forward, giving the Ducks their next elite LT prospect following in the wake of Josh Conerly Jr., who was selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders earlier this year.

Iheanacho chose Oregon over the likes of the Penn State Nittany Lions, LSU Tigers, and Auburn Tigers.

Ultimately, the commitment does not come as a major surprise.

For a couple of months now, Iheanacho has said that Oregon was the No.

1 team on his board, and multiple predictions have come down for him to choose the Ducks.

The timing of the commitment, however, was up in the air.

Iheanacho was originally scheduled to announce his commitment on August 5, but there was some speculation that he could push that up to July 4 and announce on the holiday.

After word leaked that he was pushing his date up to the 4th of July, Iheanacho announced on Thursday that he would be committing on ESPN on July 3.

No matter when it happened, what matters is that Iheanacho is a Duck, and Oregon scored one of the biggest recruiting wins of the Dan Lanning era with his addition.
