Arch Manning may carry one of the most storied surnames in football, but teammates and coaches say its his humility that continues to set him apart as he steps into the spotlight as the Texas Longhorns official starting quarterback.
Wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr.
offered a telling example of Mannings approach during a recent interview with KVUE News in Austin .
Moore described how Manning made an effort to connect with teammates from different backgrounds, referencing a trip to St.
Louis to visit fellow receiver Ryan Wingo.
I think that everybody's from different places, Moore said.
And, you know, just coming together and Arch being from where he's from and, you know, going down to Saint Louis and, you know, really extend the hand of Wingo and just showing Wingo that, okay.
I'm coming down to where you guys are and, you know, coming to, you know, the hood.
Like, most quarterbacks ain't gonna do that.
So just ours going out there, you know, kudos to him, and we really appreciate it.
Mannings reputation for humility is echoed throughout the Texas program.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian has repeatedly praised Mannings team-first mentality and work ethic.
The thing about Arch is this, from the day he arrived, there's been a real sense of humility about him, Sarkisian said earlier this year.
If you didn't know his last name and didn't know the face, and just looked at the body of work, the teammate that he is, the work ethic that he has, his commitment to his craft, his commitment to his teammates, this process has been underway for a couple of years.

I havent done anything, Manning said in a January interview.
Ive started two football games.
Theres a lot more guys that have done a lot more than me.
But Im trying to get there.
Mannings humility extends beyond words.
He waited two years behind Quinn Ewers before becoming the starter and declined to participate in NIL deals until he felt he had earned the opportunity.
Even now, with one of the highest NIL valuations in college sports, Manning remains focused on his teammates and the work ahead..
